In his heyday, Mickey Mantle would launch tape measure home runs...one was almost hit out of Yankee Stadium, another went out of Griffith Park in DC into the neighborhood, probably over 600 feet.

ReplyDeleteAh yes, the simple innocence of youth... As a youngster I was given one of his mitts to use, signed and all... simply threw it out when I thought I was done with it, never realizing what I truly held in my hands each time I used it.
