During the Dust Bowl of the 1930's, thousands of families were displaced. This is from the famous photo of Florence Thompson taken at a migrant camp in 1936.

  2. It is nicely done. I'm not a legal pro, but it seems since you gave credit to the photographer, you followed protocol? I'm interested to know what a legal person would say about Coreopsis' comment.

  3. It can be complicated, as some images are covered by fair use policies...but since this is not 'for profit' or sale, I think it's safe.

    Re the issue of copyright - the original photo is still in copyright as it was created after 1923, but as stated above, there should be no issue as long as you don't use/sell your drawing commercially without permission from the copyright holders. Interestingly, I was looking at another IF contribution, and found this elsewhere in that artist's blog: http://gregnewbold.blogspot.com/2011/01/van-gogh-deja-vu.html!
